FULL YEAR BAND LEVEL - FYBL
The Full Year Band Level classes will run from September to June, and they will guide students through 5 increasingly difficult levels of Ninja Warrior training.
There will be a strong emphasis on building physical strength through conditioning during class, and athletes will be strongly encouraged to repeat these exercises on their own at home.
These classes will help students work through fear and embrace more difficult challenges, all while keeping safety in mind.
Beginner students will learn the foundational movements of Ninja Warrior while also building the strength necessary to help them progress to more advanced skills.
Unlike the recreational classes, the band system classes have a laid-out path to follow. Class competitiveness will be encouraged during in-class courses while still keeping it fun and respectful.
Students will be encouraged to take an independent approach during class to focus on achieving skills that they are personally struggling with.
This type of class is for those who enjoy progressive challenges, physical exercise, competition, and would like to pursue Ninja Warrior as a full-year sport.
Our new band system is divided into Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced classes.
Beginner classes will be made up of students working toward their Level 1 and 2 bands
Intermediate classes will be made up of students working toward their Level 3 and 4 bands
Advanced classes will be made up of students working toward their Level 5 bands.
LEVEL ASsESSMENTS
To determine which band level they should be working toward, the students interested in this program will test their skill level in an Assessment. This will help ensure that they are placed in a class that is appropriate for their progression. These sessions are an hour long, and will take place before every new registration period. You can register for yours at the front desk!
Assessments for the 2024-2025 season of classes will be held in June 2024
The challenges shown in each level and level assessment are NOT the only skills participants will be working on in class. These skills are a selection to make sure you are well versed in the most common areas. There will be a lot of other fun and exciting movements done over the year.
LEVEL DESCRIPTIONS
Students who succeed in passing a level will receive a physical band to signify their accomplishments and to let the trainers know which skills to be training.
Students working toward their Level 1 band (GREEN) will be focusing on building strength and learning the foundational movements and obstacles of Ninja Warrior
Students working toward their Level 2 band (PURPLE) will be taking the foundational movements one step further, and there will be an emphasis on performing these movements quickly. More challenging obstacles will also be introduced.
Students working toward their Level 3 band (YELLOW) will be working on much longer courses, along with obstacles that follow the Canadian Ninja League’s competition guidelines. At this level, strength challenges will become increasingly difficult, and the workouts will increase in intensity.
Students working towards their Level 4 band (RED) continue learning more advanced and unique movements. Students will be challenged to navigate through certain obstacles without the instruction of a coach to encourage physical problem solving and creative movement exploration. There will also be more time for independent training, giving participants time to work on their weaknesses at their own pace.
Students working toward their Level 5 band (BLACK) will be working on some of the most difficult challenges and obstacles here in our gym. Some of these challenges may take multiple sessions before they can be completed successfully. At this point, the goal for each athlete is to push their limits every session and prepare for competitions as best as possible.
